Wednesday Night Dinner Program
The Wednesday Dinner Program will be on hiatus as we move into our new home 351 E 74 ST.
Please check our website regularly for updates.
The Church of the Epiphany has resumed its Wednesday Night Dinner Program!
Each Wednesday evening, from 6:00-7:30pm, we serve a hot, nutritious take-out dinner to anyone who needs one.
Guests are required to line up, observe social distancing, and wear a face mask covering their nose and mouth as they wait for their meal.
Mindful of safety first, we cook and package the food in the kitchen and Parish Hall, then distribute the bags in the church. Volunteers work in two shifts: 4:00-6:00pm or 5:30-7:30pm. Please contact Janette Gautier if you are interested in volunteering. No experience is necessary.
If you or someone you know is in need of food, please see this list of programs on the UES on the Upper East Side.
Prior to the pandemic, we served sit-down dinners in our Parish Hall, and hope to resume them as soon as it is safe to do so.
FUNDING
Our Dinner Program currently feeds from 80 to 90 hungry New Yorkers each week. Funds come from the parish and generous grants from organizations including Episcopal Charities, the City of New York via Council member Ben Kallos and the United Way, and individual donations. Every year a large portion of the budget for the program has been raised at our annual benefit auction, Epiphany Under the Stars. Unfortunately, the benefit couldn't be held in 2020 due to Covid-19, but funds are still needed to support the program. If you wish to make a donation, you may do so online. Please choose Wednesday Night Dinner Program from the drop-down menu under Fund. We thank you for your support!
We look forward to holding this festive fundraiser again in May of 2022.
