Let's Get Food Pantry and Soup Kitchen Workers Vaccinated
The Church of the Epiphany hosts a Wednesday Night Dinner Program every Wednesday from 6pm to 7:30pm. While our guests can't sit down and have their meals due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, they can line up for our "take out meals". Guests must line up, observe social distancing, and wear a face mask.
"Our pool of volunteers is currently around 35. Each week guest attendance has varied between 65 and 90. Anomalies were the night of the storm when only 45 came, and Thanksgiving when we got 140! My numbers for 2020 total were 2,575 meals. But we didn’t serve from March 2020 until July 22, 2020. In 2019, we gave out 4,789 meals. Our numbers since restarting on July 22nd 2020 through January 2021 were 2,123." said program director Janette Gautier.
Our volunteers as well as many food pantry and soup kitchen workers in New York are on the front lines every week serving our neighbors, but also at high risk of developing Covid-19. Please sign the petition to help our volunteers and frontline staff get vaccinated in Phase 1b of the Covid-19 vaccination plan.
