Invitation to sing with Epiphany Choir
Calling all choristers who’ve sung with the Epiphany Choir and those who’d like to join: after a long
hiatus due to the Covid pandemic, the choir welcomes all to sing for special services this spring.! And
what an exciting time in the life of Epiphany!
There will be two levels of participation:
1. If you are able to attend a weekday rehearsal or two, you could sing all the music.
2. If you can only make the rehearsal immediately before a service, you'd be welcome to join in all the
hymns, service music, and perhaps sing a familiar anthem as part of the choir. We want
maximum participation!
Please let me know of your participation by emailing me Stephen Rapp so that we can be prepared with your music and vestments. I will send you a detailed schedule of rehearsals and services.
The current plans for the move from 1393 York Avenue to 351 E. 74th Street:
April 10: Palm Sunday procession from 1393 to 351. Enter 351 for a brief time before processing back
to 1393 for the remainder of the service.
April 17: Easter Day at 1393 (including the Hallelujah Chorus from Messiah)
May 12: Deconsecration of 1393
June 5: Consecration of 351
(All of this is subject to change depending on progress at 351.)
Looking ahead, our hope is to have church members and friends of Epiphany sing again regularly come September. Of course, this will depend upon the status of Covid.
I hope you will sing with the Epiphany Choir either for the first time or rejoin. You will be welcomed warmly!
–Stephen Rapp, Interim Organist & Choir Director
