From the Interim Organist and Choir Director
I’m thrilled to be starting a two-year interim as your organist and choir director. The position was created to help Epiphany go through the transition from having an interim rector to calling a permanent rector. That person will be able to select an organist and choir director for the long term.
Interim responsibilities include directing the Epiphany Choir’s gifted professional singers with the expectation that dedicated volunteers can resume singing on a regular basis in September but will be invited to sing on Palm Sunday, Easter and Pentecost. Cherubs and Choristers will sing again when those age groups are fully vaccinated in large numbers.
The organist part of the position is playing on the Allen electronic organ being rented until the installation of the Bigelow Op. 44 pipe organ in the second half of 2023. Besides these areas I will soon begin work with a task force to reestablish a concert series in the Fall of this year.
The next two years promise to be an exciting and challenging time during a period of transition in the life of this wonderful parish. I look forward to exchanging ideas with parishioners as we shape a vision of the music ministry for the next two years.
