Epiphany Talks Continues!
Epiphany Talks, our adult formation series, resumes for the 2021-2022 Program Year, beginning with the reading and discussion of The Church Cracked Open, by the Rev. Canon Stephanie Spellers. Canon Spellers serves as Presiding Bishop Michael Curry’s Canon for Evangelism and Reconciliation. This new and important book is being read and discussed in parishes all over the Diocese and the greater Episcopal Church!
We will discuss the book in sections on the following Sundays:
Sunday, November 21 – Chapters 6, 7, & 8 (meet in the Chapel)
All meetings will run from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm.
The book can be ordered here, through your favored bookseller, or contact Mo. Elise to order you a copy.
BOOK DESCRIPTION: "In this critical yet loving book, the author explores the American story and the Episcopal story in order to find out how communities steeped in racism, establishment, and privilege can at last fall in love with Jesus, walk humbly with the most vulnerable and embody beloved community in our own broken but beautiful way. The Church Cracked Open invites us to surrender privilege and redefine church, not just for the sake of others, but for our own salvation and liberation."
